Studio photography is not nearly as cost effective, or appropriate, for modeling portfolio work.Keep in mind that this picture, for a modeling portfolio, was taken by a qualified modeling portfolio photographer, C. A. Passinault, for a specialized, professional market, which is modeling. A wedding photographer or a portrait studio will not be able to give models what they need for an effective modeling portfolio, as you have to know what you are doing!This is the 12th picture in our Tampa Bay Modeling online portfolio. Yet another Tampa model shows a marketable look in their portfolio. The best models are capable of the most looks, and are not locked into a single look!Agency model or independent model? It doesnt matter, anymore, especially in Tampa Bay. Professional models like this one can be booked without going through an agency, saving both the model and the job agency fees.Modeling portfolios need at least six looks, and by looks, we mean different looks. A composite cards needs at least five, on average, with a headshot on the front, and four different looks on the back of the comp card. A New Beginning!

It's good to be back. The Tampa Bay Talent sites are in position and are now poised to take action.
For those of you who are wondering, we just finished moving to our permanent server, as our site had to be moved under our TampaBayModeling.Com domain name. Although our older files still remain on our Tampa Hub server, updates will now be here.
A lot is going on here. Our sponsor, Tampa photography company Aurora PhotoArts Tampa Bay Photography and Design, have licensed their entire backstock of modeling photographs to us, which is the reason that we have new picture formats! Many of these pictures were originally used on ally site Independent Modeling, and they will use them less and less as Aurora PhotoArts is now assisting them with creating a TON of new modeling pictures.
While on the subject of Independent Modeling, it will be a while longer before the site starts updating again, but when it does, it will be huge! It seems that they had a meeting the other day, and the web team has decided to do some database research and opted to completely redesign the entire site around databasing so that it would be compatible with the TALON Talent Online Database and the Talent Online Audition talent job database. The Independent sites (Independent Modeling, Independent Acting, what was Independent Performer, and TALON) are all going to be redesigned to support the same database and separated under their own domain names, too. This is going to take a while. Expect a relaunch sometime this summer. A little bird told me that the database format was specifically designed to handle the large amount of information and to counter outdated modeling portfolio networking sites such as Model Mayhem, which in my humble opinion is aptly named. In the new era of modeling career risk analysis, which will be introduced by Independent Modeling and pushed by us, these freebie modeling networking sites will become useless to the career of the professional model, and I am all for that.
Going back to our site, Tampa Bay Modeling is going to expand a lot in 2008, and we have tons of great stuff on the way. As of today, we started a new project, too, and if those modeling agencies don't already hate us, they will in a few weeks. Know the bookers who try to cast us in a bad light? Well, their credibility will now be in scrutiny, especially with the high turnover and low pay of the average modeling agency booker. Those modeling agency scouting and placement places will be put in their place, too, as will all the model searches which seems to be everywhere these days . Consider the source when it comes to any advice.
Ah, well. The Tampa Bay Talent sites are in good shape. Tampa Bay Film is now is position on their new server, and will now resume updates and their agenda for 2008, which is addressing the indie film industry in Tampa Bay. Tampa Bay Acting, our neglected red-headed-stepchild of a sister site, now has a purpose, too, and will see lots of updates this year. They will address indie film scams, acting scams, and will become a great resource for professional actors. Once Tampa Bay Acting is brought up to speed, which should be this week, brace yourself for the launch of our newest Tampa Bay Talent site, Tampa Bay Photographers! We bought the domain name from the Tampa Photography Society photography association a while back, and currently it leads to their site. This will change once Tampa Bay Photographers launches this spring! Tampa Bay Photographers will become a resource for professional photographers, and will focus on modeling portfolio and talent headshot photographers.
Now, if we can only get our web team to install a music player so our site visitors and play a selection of music and boogey to the music that we jam to while we work on the site. Rumor has it that it is coming!
