		MODEL SCAMS - SCAM TIPS - REPORT SCAM MODEL RESELL SCAMS Model Resell Scams are now in the Tampa Bay modeling industry. They began on modeling membership scam web sites where information was stolen from other sources, and the scam tried to sell that information to models. The models, who were ripped off and victimized, were never aware that the information that they bought is often easily found for free on the Internet. Web site Resell Scams are still common today. Model Resell Scams use deceptive baiting tactics, taking information and model job posts that are often found easily on free modeling web sites as public information and then trying to sell that information to models as a way of enticing them into a scam. The most common Model Resell Scams are found as a part of Model Consultation and Model Management Scams. The scam lures the model in with the promise of being able to give them job leads, information on how to manage and promote their career independently, and "professional industry contacts" that will help their modeling career. The stolen information is given to the model after the services are sold to them, and most models are unaware the the information is easily available on free modeling web sites such as Independent Modeling at no charge. The best way to avoid resell scams is for the model to be informed. Surf the Internet and monitor leading modeling resource sites. If you catch someone trying to sell you the same information that is available for free, the model should contact the true source of the information so they can address it with the scam that stole it. DO NOT buy anything or any services from anyone that you catch doing this. Not only will you support their dishonest tactics, but you now know that they are dishonest and unethical. If they rip off someone else, what's to stop them from doing it to you? Scams listed here are not limited to models, and different types can be easily combined for new types of scams. If you cannot CLARIFY their intentions and VERIFY their references, go somewhere else to do business. It's professionally responsible to do so and lowers your risk. There are lots of great companies out there, like our advertisers and the companies in our resource sections, who are not scams. You owe it to your career to shop around and be selective.
